The Book on Prayer by Verbal Bean
In September 1969, Verbal Bean established the Apostolic Minister’s Training Institute to help aspiring ministers. Pentecostals have searched for the key to the rich successes of their early 20th century Apostolic predecessors. Writings relate the miracles and sweeping revivals of Apostolic pioneers, and authors often stress the doctrines of the oneness and the baptism of the Holy Ghost for their success.Yet, often left unexpressed was the consecration, and dedication of those who witnessed the glory of God. I believe the reader will find the criteria for a Holy Ghost outpouring in the words of the late Verbal Bean. A depth existed in Verbal Bean’s walk with God. He had a burden to see spiritual growth in those he knew. Verbal Bean developed the class on prayer, because he wanted young preachers to understand the biblical principles of prayer, so he built their faith by sharing his experiences.
